ABOUT THE ACTIVITIES
BIKE TOUR TO BLANES & BOTANIC GARDEN
Starting in Calella you will pedal along the beach road, breathing the fresh Mediterranean air before heading through the fields to Blanes, a fishing town on the Costa Brava. You’ll then visit the Marimurtra Botanical Garden, one of the most beautiful gardens on the Mediterranean. At the top of steep cliffs running along the sea, you can enjoy one of the most spectacular panoramic views over the coastline and get to know more than 4,000 plant species, most of them exotic ones, as well as several specimens that are extraordinary because of their age and size.
VISIT TO A MILITARY FORTRESS & COOKERY WORKSHOP
Hostalric is a small village located inland and its culture is listed as being of national interest. The town is conserved in almost its entirety and houses one of the most remarkable Catalan Medieval monumental complexes. It is presided over by an imposing 18th-century military fortress.
After the walk you will enjoy a fun and tasty cookery workshop. Together with a chef and the rest of your party, you will learn how to cook the best paella and then get to enjoy eating it!
WALK IN MONTNEGRE NATURE PARK
Enjoy a walk in the nature park of Montnegre and discover the Mediterranean forest and views from the top. The walk ends in a restaurant where you’ll get to enjoy a typical Catalan lunch. Walking shoes and sports clothes are recommended as you will be walking around 8km.
WALKING TO SANT POL & TORRETES LOOK-OUT POINT
Departing from the hotel you will climb up to Calella’s “Torretes” to enjoy a magnificent view of the Barcelona Coast and if it’s a clear day you’ll be able to make out Barcelona’ s silhouette. Then continue to Sant Pol de Mar, a small and traditional coastal village. After working up an appetite you will take the train back to Calella for some Iberian Ham tasting.
YOGA ON THE BEACH
On the beach, bathed in the first rays of sun and the Mediterranean breeze, you will do some gentle yoga exercises. Later, you’ll get to enjoy a healthy snack on the beach side.
ACTIVITY NOTES
You must be fit and able to participate in this holiday. Walking boots are recommended.
